Simpsons in the strand, London

Simpsons-in-the-strand, London has been open for 187 years and is widely known to be Arthur Conan Doyle (and his fictional creation, Sherlock Holmes’) favourite restaurant. Although its original purpose (as a chess club) has fallen away, it retains many of its traditions – notably roasts carved at tables.

For the best in classic British fine dining try out the Grand Divan restaurant or for quiet drinks head to the Knights Bar (dress code applies).
