It’s fair to say that this year’s London Collections: Men had a significantly wider impact than previous years and that it was due largely to Mr Paul Smith. Throughout proceedings Smith was an omnipresent figure, who’s statesman like position brought a much needed sense of grounding and tradition to LCM. Whilst championing London’s reputation in the fashion industry he also fronted the launch of #asuittotravelin – an ingenious approach to tailoring. Experimenting with materials, shapes and with a spectacular media event this new concept was easily the highlight of the week.
All of this comes off the back of an extremely busy 2014, which saw two new shop launches, a book, an app, hosting album launches and of course the highly popular Design Museum exhibition.
