Sangria is a classic summer cocktial, ideal for long, balmy nights. Few know that the standard red wine mixture is not the only way to create it. As well as white wine versions, melon Sangria is worth exploring.
1 750 ml bottle of sauvignon blanc or similar
1 1/2 cups summer melon, cut into bite-sized cubes (honeydew ideally)
3/4 cup melon liqueur (eg Midori)
1 1/2 oz lemonade
Sugar – just enough to sweeten
Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Pour into iced glasses.
